Is the Inman Aligner new?
Patients have been treated with Inman Aligners since 2000. In the United States approximately 450 to 500 new patients are prescribed treatment with Inman Aligners every month. Dr. Tif Qureshi brought the InmanAligner to the UK in 2004. However, he was the first cosmetic dentist to use the Inman Aligner more aggressively to avoid heavy tooth grinding for veneers. Since then he has been teaching the system to hundreds of other dentists who are changing their approach to cosmetic dentistry.
The UK has seen the largest number of Inman Aligners in the shortest time anywhere in the world. Dr. Tif Qureshi is described by Donal Inman as the "world's leading expert on Inman Aligners" Tif is now teaching the system around the world with Straight-talks Seminars. www.straight-talks.com
Is the Inman Aligner comparable to Invisible braces?
No, the Inman Aligner is used for treating the top and bottom front teeth only. Invisalign can treat full arches (all your teeth). But when both treatments are suitable, the Inman Aligner is faster.
Will treatment with the Inman Aligner be uncomfortable?
Due to the gentle but steady orthodontic forces generated, the appliances are easily tolerated, although you may get some soreness for a week.
Will the Inman Aligner affect my speech?
Yes. The Inman Aligner will affect your speech for a week or two. You will however acclimate to the appliances over time and be able to speak fine with them in place. Lower Aligners are far easier to speak with.
Will I need to see the doctor frequently for adjustments?
The Inman Aligners are pre-programmed to reduce the need for practice visits. Your doctor will prescribe a treatment due to your needs. In more complex cases, you may need some adjustments, but normally only every 3/4 weeks.
