This gentleman had become increasingly concerned with his upper front teeth which had worn down over the years. He also was not happy with the discolouration of them. After discussing several options with him he decided to have e-MAX veneers placed on 7 front teeth with a crown on one. He was delighted with the result and it has given him the confidence to smile again. Tooth wear affects many people and it can give rise to many problems. Tooth wear usually occurs if you grind or clench your teeth (as in the case shown below) but it can also be caused by other reasons such as acid erosion. Treatment of wear through veneers is just one option- we have several other ways that we can help. If you are worried that your teeth are thinning, looking shorter or discoloured then give us a call today.

This lady had lost several teeth on the upper right hand side. These were back teeth but the gaps were visible when she smiled.

Various options for their replacement were discussed and she decided to have a dental implant placed to replace her upper right first molar. A bridge would then be made from this to replace the tooth in front.

The implant was placed and impressions for the new bridge were taken 2 months later, followed a couple of weeks later by fitting the new bridge. The lady had previously whitened her teeth and we replaced a metal filling in her back tooth with a white filling the side of the new bridge.

The final result was excellent and the patient was very happy. She had 2 more pairs of teeth now to bite with and she had her full smile back!

The benefit of the implant retained bridge is that it is fixed in place meaning that she can now eat and smile with confidence!

This lady was very distressed when she came to see us with a chipped front tooth. Her front tooth had just been badly fractured in an accident and she was understandably very concerned about her appearance.

The tooth had been fractured close to the nerve but the root itself was not broken and so the tooth could be restored without any other intermediate treatment beforehand. Photographs were taken and the treatment options were explained and discussed. These were either to have the tooth restored with a porcelain veneer or a direct adhesive composite restoration sometimes known as dental bonding. It was explained that, despite being a more hard wearing material, the porcelain veneer would entail the removal of a little more tooth structure. In addition, an exact shade to match the rest of the teeth is not always possible with the first attempt, and sometimes a veneer has to be re-made. By contrast, the adhesive composite resin can be placed without the removal of any tooth tissue and the shade can be developed as the tooth is built up directly in the mouth. For these reasons this lady decided that the composite restoration was for her.

The tooth was restored in a single visit and the patient was thrilled with the result. No temporary veneer needed, so impressions, no 2nd visit for fitting and no concerns about shade matching.

Using state of the art Cerec technology we are able to give you a new beautiful natural looking tooth without the need for any impressions. Many patients dislike the impression taking needed when having a conventional crown or onlay, usually due to the taste or it makes them gag. Now using Cerec technology we are able to treat patients’ requiring a crown or onlay by simply taking a scan of the tooth. This means that the unwelcome impression stage is omitted and replaced with a simple camera image being taken of the tooth being treated. An added bonus is that the patient will get their brand new tooth coloured crown or onlay on the same visit so there is no need for a second visit or a temporary crown to be placed. So if you need a new crown and dread having the impression taken contact us at Dental Elegance and let us help you.

We are really excited to announce that we now offer our patients single visit crowns and onlays . Using the latest CAD/CAM CEREC technology allows us to prepare, fabricate and fit your brand new ceramic restoration all in one visit. Normally any crown work needed in a patient’s mouth would require 2 separate visits, impressions and temporaries. Now by using the CEREC system all we need is to take a picture scan of the tooth that needs a crown , we then use the CEREC machine to design and make the restoration. As this can be done all in one visit it means that patients can leave with their beautiful natural looking ceramic restoration in place -no impressions or temporaries are needed.

To find out how the CEREC system can help you get instant, wonderfully natural looking crowns call us now on 02088508820
